LMCB- A summers end

 Hey everyone...

I hope you are all having a great weekend and are getting in some crafty time!!  Lasting memories challenge blog has a new challenge up for you.   A Summers End - We’d love to see how you wind down before the kid’s head back to school and the cooler weather moves in, do you take a family vacation? Spend lots of time poolside?  Pop on over and check it out!  Here is my inspiration for the challenge.

I used my CTMH stamps to create the background paper with versa mar

When making the background i was thinking about a challenge at Scraptastic - Subway art... love how the words are all over and different ones for the beach, Sun, Water, Sand, Fun, Hot, Chillin, Friends, Party, Drinks and Beach was in there... I don't think i am forgetting any but it is mostly covered up now. 

Again some CTMH stamps for the sunshade, chairs and flip flops

I used my cricut to create the letters and the shapes behind the picture

I used Washi tape in the corners

I used basic grey paper for the frames and the polka dot paper

and one more of the LO :)

I also wanted to share what my work space looks like while I work!!  messy messy messy!!!

My best friend is also my daughters best friend's mother.  When they were both younger my friend and I used to have the girls go to camp together - good thing we did because I believe they grew in friendship as we both lived so far away.

Most of you know I was a scrapbooker before ever making cards - and I love to scrapbook.  

Here is a layout of my lovely daughter and her boyfriend at the beach last year. 

I used Creative Memories Traveler Cricut cart for the sun and CTMH art philosophy for the tag

Papers and embellishments are from American craft "Gardenia"  love that collection 

punch work is from martha stewart 

the hot stamp is from CTMH "just chilling" stamp set 

I couldn't get the right angel for the photo to show that the photo and journal box are pop dotted
and don't  you love the "Ruffled" ribbon!!

I am playing along with Sassy Studio Designs Sex in the City Challenge... so excited.  The other day I showed you my Charlotte - today we have Samantha... I loved her!!!

 we were asked to use some bling... so she has a bling dress, earring and the gold paper actually has a glitter to it.  You can barely see it in the below picture

LMCB- Sweatin to the oldies

Good morning everyone

Lasting memories has another great challenge for you all!!!

Sweatin' to the oldies - this week we're using a summer song lyric from the 50's - 70's on your layout!

If you love to use sketches here is one for you to help you along the way... 

We have a fab prize as well donated by Stacia !

Here is my take on the challenge! 

 Ok... don't laugh but when I was going through websites of the top 100 of the 70's I was hit with kermit the frog "Rainbow Connection"!!!  I can't belive it was on the top 100 of all 70's.  Wow... loved that song as a child and my daughter had a perfect picture that she had taken when she was in grade ten with a friend.  

The picture was taken from a web cam and the girls played around with the tint to create a quad picture.  I cut the picutre into the four different colours and used my June Scraptastic Club kit. 

 The letters were done on my cricut using creative memories - traveler and WASHI tape!!!!!  love it!!!!

 I also used Mister Huey's white misting to give the black paper some dimension 

 I hope I was able to inspire you to join us for the challenge!!!
