Happy birthday!!

Good evening everyone...
I made a quick card tonight to stock up on my birthday cards... you never know when one will seek up on you!!  Now I know it looks purpleish but it is actually a pale blue. I am not sure why it is showing up that colour - weird.... i am still learning about the picasa program plus it is the free version which seems to be OK by me for the moment... any way I am rambling again.   Here is the card - I used Close to my heart Philosophy Cricut cart and Close to my heart Celebration stamp.  The background paper is actually a photo mat from Creative memories that I had in my stash and of course I used some embossing on it.

I went with the CAS style... I seem to be gravitating towards that way.  Little bit of bling is good... too much and I feel like I have clutter on my pages or cards,
some close up of my bling!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Card Crafter's Circle: Challenge - Birthday
Winter Wonderland - birthday
Twisted Cards - sketch

Thanks so much for stopping by and I am sending hearts <3 out to you all!!

Any way this card is for a colleague that was thinking of me and picked up a paper box from Micheal's when they were on sale. Isn't that sweet!!!!

Liebster Award

Sharing and passing the "Liebster" Award

I have a blog award I want to share with you thanks to Haven over at Haven's Haven
“Liebster” is a German word meaning dearestbeloved or favorite, and the Liebster Award is sort of a chain letter among bloggers that’s intended to showcase exceptional up-and-coming blogs (typically, those with 200 or fewer followers). Now, there’s no evaluation committee or formal award process for the Liebster, but in a way it’s even nicer – it’s recognition that a peer has noticed and appreciated your hard work.

Here are the rules:
  • Choose 5 up and coming blogs of fewer than 200 followers to award the Liebster to.
  • Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
  • Post the award on your blog.  Link back to the blogs you have given the Liebster to so everyone else can pay them a visit.
So in no particular order here are my 5:

  1. Melanieafternoon scrapper
  2. Jennaroo - held scraptive
  3. Tania - Generation promise
  4. Karen - scrapwhenican
  5. Anna - Pictures N Papers

Pile it on for Dude time doodles

Good Morning everyone,
Pile it on has a challenge going for one week and we are sponsored by Dude Time doodles!!
Believe it or not other than Rodeo Randy everything was created with my scraps that I had around my craft room or recycled items!  I had the twine from a box I received from a gift.  Oh yeah I did just buy the brads... I have never really used them before because I was a flat scrapbooker now I am broadening my skills and using 3D items and making cards!  Seriously my daughter believes I have an addiction!  I think she might be right!!! teehee...

Here is the card!!
To make the horse shoes I used my Cricut Expression and the Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge.  Distressed the edges of the card and horse shoes added my new shiny brads... and voila - I think they turned out pretty cool!

here is the inside...
I think I might go back to add some doodles in the inside of the card - looking a little plain to me

LMCB - getting to know you! Introductions

Good Morning everyone!

Today is my first post for Lasting Memories Challenge blog.   The theme "Getting to know you"  which you all know is not easy to complete a LO about your self - and finding a pic arghh... that was a challenge in it's self!!  Seriously how many of you are always behind the camera and prefer it that way... my hand is up!  Take a moment to check out the challenge blog! here
The pic was taken while my daughter and I went for a fall walk at Princess Point in Hamilton Ontario.  Most people think of Hamilton as a steel town but really there is so much beauty in Hamilton - we have the most waterfalls in all of Canada - we are a hidden gem.

So... some points that you might not have known about me:

  1. Hate mushrooms
  2. Love to travel (just wish I had the money to do it more often)
  3. Was on the first Canadian parent cheer-leading squad!!!  lol - there is more than likely some pics out there but... arghh... too funny - My daughter was a competitive cheerleader for many years and the parents wanted to support and get involved so voila - parent cheerleaders... not pretty
Here is my LO:

believe it or not... I was actually trying to get a pic of me and my daughter... lol - she finally took the camera.  She has years of experience with self photos
aren't' these birds the cutest - they came in my November Autumn Splendor kit from Scraptastic Club.
close up shot of the chipboard and the butterflies
I used misting on yellow card stock but in this pic it doesn't show up that well - but I like the way the title showed up.

I struggled with this LO so I had to reach out to my trusty bloggy challenges:
Scraptastic Club: January 1st
Cas-ual Friday - chip off the old block

thanks for stopping by and sending hearts out to you all
